Amy Violette [pronounced ‘Violet’] is an American fashion designer, entrepreneur, pastor, professor, actress, and songwriter. She is the CEO of her own brand AMY VIOLETTE. She is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Resolana Farms 501(c)(3) a 37-acre working horse farm in Northern New Mexico providing land-based creative residencies and spiritual retreats. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee then moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University. At Belmont she was a NCAA Division 1 Track & Field athlete and worked in the music industry. Her tenure at Warner Brother Records and Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc. (formerly Gaylord Entertainment) gave her a solid business foundation and confidence to create six companies before the age of 30. She’s a member of The Nashville Fashion Alliance, ASCAP, Nashville Songwriters Association International, Academy of Homiletics, Society of Biblical Literature, Academy of Preachers, and former President of the Truett Preaching Society.
In 2011, a big part of Amy’s story began. She was notified by the FBI that a pastor she had formerly worked with at Lifeway’s Centrifuge Summer Camp had been arrested. A video he secretly took of her taking a shower had been found on his computer. She became a victim of clergy sexual assault by video voyeurism. In 2012, Amy testified in court and her abuser was charged with 13 felonies. Her interviews about the trial have been featured on CNN's Anderson Cooper Live, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Baptist News Global, Baptist Women in Ministry, and Validity Magazine. Her blog chronicling her experience won WORDPRESS ‘Most Read Blog Of The Day’ three times from 2012 to 2013. To date her literary audience is 85,000 strong in 75 countries around the world.
In 2016, she began working in TV/Film on the NETFLIX show GODLESS. She's been featured in several hit TV/Films including: NASHVILLE, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and DAYBREAK. She was Maisy Stella’s (Daphne Conrad) photo/stunt double in Season 5 and 6 of NASHVILLE. She just landed the lead role in an upcoming feature film being filmed in New Mexico May/June 2019. Amy is a graduate of Baylor University (M.Div. Leadership) and Belmont University (B.A. Religious Studies). In 2017, she was ordained as a pastor by First Baptist Church Decatur, Georgia. She’s in the process of finishing her book, Resilient: A Memoir of Hope. She lives on a ranch in a remote corner of New Mexico with her horse, Mágico, and blue heeler puppy, Bradley Cooper.
